
Thor Magnus Rovik, a professional with 25 years of international experience in the energy sector, has taken the position of CEO at Northern Europe Energy Group (Northern Energy) – an energy company in the Nordic-Baltic region. The former CEO, Tor Arne Pedersen, will continue working within the company as the technical director, contributing his invaluable international experience gained in similar projects to the technical development aspects.
Thor Magnus Rovik brings 25 years of leadership experience in the energy industry across Norway, Europe, Africa, South East Asia and North America. He has held prominent leadership positions, overseeing large projects, including hydrogen infrastructure development. Through his own company, The Energy Resource Company AS, he has advised global energy and infrastructure companies on strategy, business development, and transaction matters. Thor Magnus Rovik is also the CEO of CIS Liepaja, a subsidiary of Northern Europe Energy Group.
Northern Energy currently has several active projects in the Baltics and Nordic countries, including CIS Liepaja in Liepāja special economic zone and the Jēkabpils energy center in Latvia, a data center complex in Hämmenlinna, Finland, the Urissaare sustainable industry park in Estonia, and a large-scale renewable energy, energy storage, and hydrogen infrastructure project under Baltic General Power Company in Latvia, Estonia, and Finland.
